About this team

What this team is responsible for.

The Plate Laboratory fabricates, finishes, inspects and documents every system AREOLA places, under a governed quality process at the Philadelphia National Center.

01

Governed fabrication

Work proceeds from an approved design record. Personnel are qualified for named tasks through Materials Laboratory Training and revalidated on a defined cycle; material arrives with traceable documentation or it is quarantined.

02

Inspection and nonconformance

Inspection is a separate step performed by separate personnel. A piece that does not meet its design record is recorded as a nonconformance and reviewed; it is not adjusted quietly to pass. The record of that review stays with the piece.

03

What is not published

Process parameters, tolerances, equipment settings and proprietary methods are not published on the public website, in Academy materials or in supplier communications.
