Renee C.’s path to custom platinum with set stones.

Renee chose a restrained micro-brushed platinum finish with a single channel setting after reviewing several material families.

“I came in asking for something impressive and left having chosen something quiet. That was their doing, and they were right.”

Renee arrived at the Pacific Center with a clear brief and a photograph, and describes her first consultation as a polite dismantling of both. What she had brought was a high-polish platinum pair with a pavé field across the full face. What she left with, three appointments later, was a micro-brushed platinum system with a single channel of set stones at the lower margin.

The Custom Plate Studio took her through the difference in practical terms rather than aesthetic ones. A full pavé field carries more setting, more edges and more maintenance, and every additional stone is a point at which the surface can catch. Her specialist was explicit that the Studio would execute her original brief if she still wanted it after understanding that, and Renee says the willingness to build it was what convinced her not to.

Provenance and valuation documentation were prepared alongside the clinical plan, and she says the two arriving together is what made the thing feel serious rather than indulgent. The stones are documented individually. The setting is reviewed at each Annual Plate Check.

She is direct about the cost and says she would not pretend otherwise. “It is a substantial amount of money and I do not think anybody should be coy about that,” she says. “What I would say is that nobody at any point tried to sell me the more expensive version. They talked me out of it.”
