Continuity is part of the plan
A replacement plate is a long-term system, and AREOLA treats follow-up as a continuing clinical relationship. Your registered model, design history, finish, attachment type and care guidance stay together in one record so that any AREOLA clinician can see the same history you do.
What long-term follow-up includes
Annual Plate Checks, care guidance specific to your material and finish, review of any change in appearance or comfort, and — for interchangeable systems — periodic assessment of the interface and of the external plates in regular use. Follow-up intervals are individualized within a network-wide standard.
Changes over time
Skin, tissue, activity and preference change over years. Some patients revise a profile, change a finish, add or retire an external plate, or move from one center to another. Each of these is a planned conversation rather than an unexpected event, and the documented history makes them straightforward.
If you move or change clinicians
Records transfer within the AREOLA network automatically and can be released to an outside clinician at your request. Patients relocating away from a center can usually keep annual review at whichever center is most practical for them.
