01

Three separate questions

Patients often merge three decisions that AREOLA keeps apart: which clinical pathway applies, which plate system suits the plan, and which design choices are compatible with both. The first is clinical, the second is joint, and the third has the most room for personal preference.

02

Why pathways are named the way they are

Some pathways are defined by configuration — primary, bilateral, unilateral — and some by indication, such as elective or elective. A patient can be in more than one at once. The Compare Replacement Procedures page sets out how the named pathways differ.

03

What a consultation adds

Reading about options establishes vocabulary; it does not narrow them. Narrowing requires history, examination and a conversation about what you want the result to do. Arriving with questions rather than conclusions consistently produces a better first appointment.
