The shape of recovery
Early days centre on rest and site protection, the following weeks on healing and gradually resuming ordinary activity, and the months afterward on settling — appearance, sensation and comfort all continue to change well after the site has healed.
What is worth noting
Keeping a short record of how the site looks and feels in the first weeks makes follow-up visits more useful, especially for patients travelling from a distance who see their team less frequently.
Getting help
Your center's nursing line handles healing questions; Patient Services handles scheduling and logistics; local emergency services handle emergencies. Knowing which is which in advance saves time at the moment you actually need it.
