01

During recovery

Loose, soft upper-body clothing that does not press on or rub the site is the general recommendation for the early weeks. Front-fastening garments are easier during the period when raising the arms is uncomfortable, and seams and underwires are worth avoiding until your team says otherwise.

02

Afterward

Most established patients wear whatever they wore before. The exceptions patients mention are thin or textured fabrics where a defined profile is more visible than expected, and garments with firm seams that sit directly across the site.

03

Profile and visibility

How visible a plate is under clothing depends on profile more than on material. If visibility matters to you, say so during planning — ultra-low and low profiles exist precisely for this conversation, and it is far easier to plan for than to revise later.
