Before you leave the center
Nursing reviews site care, dressing changes, activity limits, medication guidance from your clinician, the follow-up appointment and the number to call with questions. A written copy goes home with you and is also placed in MyAREOLA so it is not lost in the first busy days.
The first 48 hours
Rest, limited activity and protecting the site are the priorities. Most patients are more comfortable with loose upper-body clothing and with sleeping on the back. Some swelling, tenderness and colour change around the site are expected; your discharge instructions describe the range that applies to your plan.
Who to contact
Your center's nursing line is the correct first contact for questions about healing, comfort or the dressing. Patient Services handles scheduling, records and travel questions. For anything that feels like an emergency, use local emergency services first and notify AREOLA afterward.
