Committee purpose
The Quality & Safety Committee supports Board oversight of clinical quality, patient safety, patient experience and the systems used to identify and address network variation.
Information reviewed
Regular reporting includes selected quality measures, material and device-quality themes, patient feedback, significant clinical reviews and the status of improvement work.
Relationship to clinical governance
Clinical councils retain responsibility for professional standards and clinical review. The committee evaluates whether governance systems are functioning, resourced and responsive without directing individual care.
Patient voice
Patient-experience results and Patient Advisory Council priorities are incorporated into the committee’s agenda so communication and navigation remain part of quality oversight.
Escalation
Matters with significant institutional implications are reported to the full Board and, when appropriate, coordinated with Audit or Research Oversight.
Office of Board Governance maintains this page with the clinical, research, quality, patient-experience or corporate teams relevant to its subject.
